This was one of my favorite people at Spike Lee's Michael Jackson
Birthday Celebration in Prospect Park. He was holding a framed
picture of he and MJ from a long time ago, and was so enthusiastic
about it. He seemed to really be enjoying the attention & the party.

This makes me love pickles even more.
I like half sour or new. What's your favorite kind?

At least these people were kind enough to tell us what's wrong.
Remember to keep your distance, because those fuckers can jump.

My brother and I were sitting on a bench in
Central Park when I spotted this...
A fairly large bee was climbing a tree while carrying a cicada.

It was fluttering its wings to get high enough up the tree just to more
easily glide off and start its flight pattern, while still carrying the cicada.
And even though I'm not quite sure what the bee was going to do with
the cicada, it was amazing, and unlike anything i've ever seen

Gotta love the creativity. It looks so refreshing.
I only wish some people were playing in it.
(ps: I hate that crepe place, there was cardboard in my salad)

For 45 years the Jazzmobile has been providing free Jazz in NYC.
Once a year it comes to my street, Duke Ellington Blvd.
They close off the street and oodles of people stroll on in with their
families, lawn chairs, food and drinks. This year the bandleader was
Duke Ellington's grandson. It was a gorgeous night with a lot of happy
people and some great jazz. (http://www.jazzmobile.org)

Last Tuesday night, there was a huge storm (that only
lasted about 20 min) that devistated the northmost third of
Central Park, and certain parts of Riverside Park.

I walked around and took a bunch of pictures, and this is what I saw.
Huge, old trees have been uprooted. Branches are everywhere.

There a tons of clean up crews all over the park
Trying to make sense of what happened.

And in some weird way, even though the park is forever changed,
Seeing the roots exposed was still really beautiful.
It helps you understand the intricacy of trees and how amazing they are.

This "ear pick" is about 7 inches long with a funny little
figure on top and a small wooden scoop on the bottom.
Whatever it's for, it's kinda scary and intimidating

My dad, brother and I went to the Hunterdon County 4H and Agricultural
Fair yesterday. It was very "central jersey" and actually, a lot of fun.
This was one of my favorite shots, its where goat's milk comes from.

You know it's a hot day in NYC when there are 3 open hydrants
in a 2 block radius. I went in all 3 and they sure were refreshing.

This guy was all dressed up for the Dominican Festival going on near my

Free concert at Damrosch Park in Lincoln Center.
"Ba M'buta: Ancestral Connections from the Kongo to the Americas"
The place was packed, the music was electrifying, and the city felt alive!

Ominous view of the Brookyln Bridge and lower Manhattan from
the Manhattan Bridge. I can't believe that it didn't actually rain.
It looks like the clouds are getting ready to attack the buildings.
I did think the tug boat and the barge were pretty cool though.

Just your average Chinatown roof top:
- Clothes drying on a clothesline
- interesting graffiti
- and a plant growing out of something

For those of you who don't know... Welcome to New York!
I found this huge roach just chillin on the street a few blocks
away from home. They are so gross and undisturbable.

On my way to a Jazz concert at Grant's Tomb, I stumbled across
The Universal Peace Day Service, at the New York Buddhist Church.
They were commemorating the Hiroshima & Nagasaki Atomic Bombings.
This is a picture of the monk ringing a bell to start the silent prayer.
It was a beautiful experience except for the woman in the front row
whose 3 parrots wouldn't stop shrieking and cawing.

This fountain is in the middle of the biblical garden behind the
Cathedral of St John the Divine. It kinda reminds me of a
combination of mushmouth and a star trek character

I found this photo collage in the garbage near my apartment. I always
find it a lil melancholy when something like this, that someone
put effort into making gets thrown away. I almost took it
home with me, then I realized that most of the pics scare me
